Jamie’s rock version of Rozalla’s 1990s dance classic Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good) impressed the four judges, with two of them putting him through to the next round.

The twist to the auditions stage of The Voice is that the four celebrity coaches cannot see the acts, and only choose to turn around if they want the singer to join their team.

The judges, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am, singer Kylie Minogue, Welsh singing legend Sir Tom Jones – who is to perform in Jersey this summer – and Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson praised Jamie’s emotional rendition of the track, with Ricky and Kylie turning round for the Jersey singer.

Jamie, who currently fronts London-based band ROMANCE, decided to join Ricky Wilson’s team.
