During questions Deputy Roy Le Hérissier asked the Chief Minister what steps had been taken to ensure local workers would be ready to fill jobs rather than companies relying on immigrants.
Senator Gorst told the House that last year 258 people had been trained in the construction industry and that of the 4,940 workers, 4,720 were entitled or entitled to work – Islanders who had been in Jersey for ten or five years.
