'Sacked' teacher allowed to retire
A TEACHER whose controversial dismissal earlier this year led to unrest among her colleagues and threats of strike action has reached a compromise agreement and has been allowed to retire.
In April around 30 teachers at Beaulieu School, who were all members of the NASUWT union, attended a crisis meeting after the teacher was allegedly sacked without proper procedures being followed.
The union, which represented the teacher in an unfair dismissal claim, had threatened to ballot members about industrial action unless the dispute was resolved.
