Michael Calvert sparked an armed police operation in town after chasing his victim down Bond Street and repeatedly slashing his face with a seven inch blade in front of shocked office workers.
The 34-year-old unemployed Liverpudlian was yesterday jailed by the Royal Court for four and a half years for affray and a further six months for trying to escape during an earlier Magistrate’s Court hearing.
