Double hopes dashed

First came the astonishing 21-4 defeat for Karina Bisson, who, following her success in 2006, was hoping to win the British women’s outdoor singles title for the second time. But Bisson was totally outplayed by Scotland’s Caroline Brown.

An hour or so later, Jersey’s young trio of Rachel Macdonald, Katie Nixon and Lindsey Greechan were robbed of victory in the triples final, when their Welsh opponents claimed four shots on the last end to win by one, 19-18.
