Court of Appeal to review ‘lenient’ sex case sentence

Court of Appeal to review ‘lenient’ sex case sentence

Allan Kittleson (55) was given a two-year suspended jail sentence by the Royal Court on 8 October after he pleaded guilty to having underage sex with a schoolgirl.

The girl’s devastated father was outraged by the ‘lenient’ punishment and wrote to the Home Affairs Minister and the Attorney General, saying that his faith in the Island’s justice system had been shattered by the ordeal.

He gave an emotional interview to the JEP at the time, saying that he could not get his head around the Royal Court’s decision, which had effectively allowed Kittleson to get away with what he had done.

Now the Attorney General, Tim Le Cocq, has applied to the Court of Appeal for a review of the sentence imposed on Kittleson.
