Employers are being offered the services of Hanson Renouf’s family law department, who will ensure workers have access to a qualified family lawyer in the event of a family or relationship crisis.
br>The scheme helps employees allay fears, work through problems and allows employers to get the most from their staff.
br>Barbara Corbett, who is the head of family law at Hanson Renouf, said: ‘I actually came across the idea when one of our commercial clients called to say that their financial director had suffered some problems and came into work in pieces, and they just couldn’t get any work done.
They asked if we could send a family lawyer round, because the person was a valued member of their team and they felt it was important to help him.
It actually worked out really well – I went to see him that same day and we were able to work out what needed to be done, and allay any fears he had.
He carried on instructing after that, but I think the real benefit of the service is that issues can be dealt with quickly.
Sometimes things can get out of hand if they are left.
