A doctor who examined Robert (18) and Jamie (25) Passman’s victim said that they had given him a ‘severe beating’.

In the Royal Court last week, Robert Passman, who was described in court as the main assailant, was jailed for a year and Jamie Passman for nine months.

The court also ordered an investigation into how the pair had continued to be served in town pubs when they were clearly intoxicated. Commissioner Julian Clyde-Smith, who was sitting as the judge, said that the court was particularly concerned that Robert Passman, who was 17 at the time of the attack, was served alcohol.

The attack happened when they two were out with their girlfriends celebrating Jamie’s 25th birthday on 26 August.
