Since the investigation was revealed on Thursday, police have received a total of 23 phone calls and one e-mail from people as far away as Australia and Thailand, as well as Guernsey, the UK and Germany.
It was revealed last week that for the past year police have been carrying out a covert investigation into historic cases of physical and sexual child abuse. One of the main focuses of the inquiry has been the former Haut de la Garenne children’s home ? particularly during the 1970s and 1980s.
The Jersey Sea Cadet Unit is also being looked into after a number of officers there were prosecuted in the last few years for offences against children.
