Harbourmaster Capt Howard Le Cornu said: ‘I can confirm that the Deputy Harbour Master has been suspended with immediate effect, pending an investigation into an internal management matter.
‘In his absence measures are being put in place to ensure his duties are covered and that operation of the port is not affected.’
Capt Le Cornu said that Jersey Harbours would not comment upon or discuss the personal circumstances of individual members of staff.
