As the latest figures are likely to show increasing visitor numbers and record levels of investment, the Island is being assured that tourism is back on track. The 2008 Tourism campaign is launched to the industry today and director of tourism and marketing David de Carteret said that ‘Jersey works’ was the theme they were trying to get across. ‘After last year’s campaign we are going to be at least two per cent up in terms of visitor numbers, which is a significant increase,’ he said. ‘In just about every possible measurement we are going to be up – including things like website hits and brochure requests. ‘It’s what we set out to do. In past years people have been sceptical because we did have some declining figures, but we really are making a comeback now.’
