And it has been revealed that for the first time in a decade most Jersey Telecom workers will not receive profit-related bonuses this year as the company seeks to keep prices low in the face of existing competition. The States were due to debate proposals put forward by Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur on 20 November to privatise JT . But the Senator now says he is prepared to wait until next January after a scrutiny sub-panel argued that more time was needed to test safeguards given in the 292 page proposition about the company’s future. The decision has been welcomed by the chairman of the Economics Affairs scrutiny sub-panel Deputy Geoff Southern.
