Today marks the launch of Flybe Island Heroes, in association with the Jersey Evening Post, which is open to anyone in the community who is involved in education, sport or charity. The airline will give £10,000 to the winner of each category. This will be made up of a £5,000 cash prize and £5,000 in travel vouchers, which can be used to fly anywhere on the Flybe network from Jersey. Applicants have to tell the judges, in no more than 250 words, why their nominee deserves the prize. Anyone who knows an Island sporting, education, or charity hero – or even all three – is asked to nominate them in writing.
