Joyce and Ken Lewis, who are both 83, first came to the Island in 1955. ‘We first visited Jersey because Ken’s sister-in-law came to work here,’ said Mrs Lewis. ‘Then we came the next year, and the year after that. Then we began to meet new people here, and we still do.’ On this visit, Mr and Mrs Lewis are staying with friends. ‘We stay in all sorts of places – with friends, in self-catering and at different B & Bs,’ she said. ‘One of our favourite places is Flicquet, because it is quiet. We used to take the children there when they were small.’
