Twenty additional officers were deployed on ‘Operation Ginger’ and patrolled areas including St Brelade’s Bay, Havre des Pas and Howard Davis Park in an effort to curb anti-social behaviour. Officers visited shops to ask them not to sell alcohol to youths who looked under 18, a tactic that the police say seemed to work as there was little public evidence of under age drinking. Four youths were arrested for drug related offences with officers seizing a commercial amount of cannabis. However, in general, police said that the atmosphere was positive with hundreds of youths acting responsibly while celebrating their results.
