The victim, who is aged 29, is believed to have suffered burns to his face and was said by a hospital spokesman today to be in a critical but stable condition. It is likely his condition will be reviewed later today to decide whether he will be sent to the UK for specialist treatment. Two men were arrested after the incident, which took place at 9.30 pm. One man aged 28 was arrested in Devonshire Place and the other, who is 34, was arrested in Great Union Road. Ambulance paramedics assisted the man at the scene and then walked him over the road to the accident and emergency department at the General Hospital. This morning, a police spokesman said that it had been a ‘nasty’ attack.
