Jenson Bauer, communications officer for the Co-op, said that reaching 100,000 members was a huge achievement.
‘We now cover two thirds of the population in Jersey and Guernsey,’ he said.
‘We’re really pleased and are doing our best to ensure we get more members.
‘100,000 members is the landmark we were waiting for.
We’ve reached a significant milestone and we’re really happy about it.
Mr Bauer thinks that the success of the co-op lies in two main factors.
‘The value for money that we offer is a main drive for customers,’ he said, ‘but the dividend is the biggest drawing point.
