Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur says he is cons-idering a £400 ‘de minimis’ limit for imports when the 3% GST is levied from next April. That would mean that Islanders can import goods worth up to that amount without having to pay the taxman a penny. At a Corporate Services Scrutiny panel hearing yesterday, Senator Le Sueur said that the figure was likely to be around £400. Instead of setting the threshold by order, he would seek a States debate.
