‘Proud parishioner’ stands for Constable

Mr Hanning is the only candidate to have declared his intention to stand for the post so far, which is vacant because of the retirement of Phil Ozouf, to whom tribute was paid in the States last week. Mr Hanning has been involved in the honorary system for over 30 years, serving in the honorary police for 26 years. He became chairman of the rates assessment committee in 1993 after joining the committee in 1984. ‘I’ve been involved with rates for over 20 years now,’ he said. Mr Hanning, who works part-time in his family decorating business and is married to former JEP features editor Elaine, said that he was prepared to fight for the role of Constable of St Saviour.
