Over the past year a new school has been built for them on the Haute Vallée site, and, for the first time ever, the pupils will be integrated into a mainstream secondary. Sharon Eddie, head teacher of the special school, said that the move had been a very long time coming and meant that the pupils would now be able to share facilities. ‘It has taken five years to get to this point,’ she said. ‘It’s a very forward-thinking initiative for Jersey in terms of inclusion for our youngsters.
