The meeting will be Mr Brown’s first as Prime Minister, and an early opportunity for him to sit down with leaders of parliaments in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Senator Walker said he welcomed the early opportunity to meet the new Prime Minister. ‘The official agenda will focus on specific topics but the main interest from my perspective is the opportunity to have a meeting and a discussion with the new British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and hopefully begin to establish a relationship with him so that we can maintain an awareness of Jersey in his mind and his thinking,’ said Senator Walker.
