Records fall but Jersey lose

Kathryn also achieved a new U15 Island record in the shot, with an impressive throw of 11.39 metres.

It smashed the inter-insular record of 10.67m and the Island record of 10.82m.

She also broke the inter-insular U15 discus record with a throw of 26.85m, the previous record being 26.48m.

And Felicity was equally impressive on the track, achieving a new U15 1,500m inter-insular record with a time of 4 min 55 sec, beating the previous record by nine seconds.

The Jersey College For Girls students were among the Island team competing against Guernsey at the FB Fields, the overall winners being Guernsey by 36 points.

The Jersey girls’ team won by 129 points to Guernsey’s 123, but the Island boys’ team lost by 169 points to 127.

It gave Guernsey a total of 292 points and Jersey, 256.
