Manager Kevin Miller was saddened by the news and said: ‘It is obviously a huge blow and it’s a really big disappointment for Becky, who is one of the senior players in a young squad and one of only a handful with Island Games experience.
‘After we didn’t enter the Shetland Games we’ve had to wait four years to play again and it’s taken a long time to come round so it’s devastating that Becky has missed this opportunity – she’ll be in plaster for four weeks now.
‘The discussions about a possible replacement will have to be done over the weekend but we have girls within the squad that have been training all the way through and paying into the savings account.
‘The thing we are gifted with is that we’ve got a number of midfield players so we have flexibility within the squad and I’m confident we can cover the gap.’
