Richard William John Doyle, of Havre des Pas, was described as a long-standing street-level drug dealer and cocaine user. When his flat was raided by police on 22 December last year, police found four ounces of cocaine in a tin and 36 small plastic bags and 462 ecstasy tablets. The 24-year-old later said that the cocaine had been given to him by two men who had flown into the Island from Bristol. He was asked to ‘mind’ the cocaine for 24 hours, for which he would be paid an ounce for his own use. Interviewed by police after his arrest, Doyle admitted already supplying two one-gram wraps of cocaine, sharing one with his flatmate and using the rest himself. He also admitted supplying seven wraps in December 2005 and a gram bag to his flatmate in September last year.
