St Ouen were marginally the best perfomers, ending the day with 40 points from their six-wicket defeat of Springfield at the FB Fields.

Mark Saralis top scored with 60 in Alternative Solutions Springfield’s total of 200, but, St Ouen lost only four wickets in passing that mark, with Richard Gommersall unbeaten on 57.

In second place, having gleaned 39 points from their 14-run victory over Rathbones Old Victorians at the Farmers Field, are Romerils, while Fairburn SCF are third having earned 37 points from their eight-wicket victory over Caesareans at Grainville.

Half centuries from Island players Matt Hague and Tony Carlyon carried Sporting Club past the target of 161 that Caesareans set.

Romerils were 235 all out, with OVs finishing on 221 for nine.

In Division I St Ouen 2nds also had a good day to beat new boys Rowlands Wanderers by four wickets.

St Ouen’s new recruit, Australian Clint Irons stamped his authority on the game with a classy 73 which included five 6s.

Fairbairn Sporting Club 2nds beat Springfield 2nds by 43 run.
