Spokesman André Ferrari said that capping the Island’s population would ensure that no more of Jersey’s ‘precious countryside’ would be developed for housing. He said that Jersey had been expanding its population for 40 years and that the housing provision was not getting any better. Now, he said, was the time to say enough is enough, just as Guernsey did last week.
