Honorary police ‘needs to reflect the community’

As he prepares to retire from the St Brelade force after 20 years, Chef de Police Geoff Cornwall said that the parish forces had to look forward and continue evolving without losing their unique link with the communities they serve. Mr Cornwall has handed over the chairmanship of the Comité des Chefs to St Ouen Centenier John Le Masurier, following an election earlier this month. Centenier Philip Le Sueur of Trinity will continue as vice-chairman. The Comité des Chefs is the senior policy and operational group within the honorary police and is charged with ensuring consistency of practice and training for officers of all ranks across the parishes.
