New figures released today by local Aids charity Acet in its annual report reveal that 12 people were diagnosed with the infection last year. Most at risk from the disease are young people and so-called marginal groups, such as gay and bi-sexual men, drug users and those whose first language is not English. There is also increased anxiety about sex tourists visiting places such as Thailand and returning to the Island with HIV and unknowingly infecting others.
