Mr Heynes (32) was previously the newspaper’s general advertising manager.
He joined the JEP in the summer of 2004 as classified advertising manager.
Born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, he studied English at Plymouth University before joining the Birmingham Post and Mail where he spent eight years and became business manager for recruitment advertising.
He then worked for the Tribal advertising agency in Nottingham.
In his latest post he will be responsible for 27 staff and advertising sales for all the titles published by the JEP Ltd which, as well as the newspaper, include the MSP magazine titles and internet advertising for the website thisisjersey.
