Deputy Sarah Ferguson, who successfully brought a vote of no confidence in Deputy Duhamel on Tuesday, was elected by five votes yesterday to replace him. The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee received 26 votes to Deputy Pat Ryan’s 21 after committing to raising the profile of Scrutiny panels. In her speech to the House Deputy Ferguson said that her philosophy was ‘non-adversarial’ and she believed it was ‘easier to catch Ministers with treacle than with vinegar’.
