States and honorary officers joined forces with shop security staff to patrol the town, with some officers posing as shoppers. They recovered stolen goods worth £1,500. Three of the arrests related directly to shoplifting, while one person was wanted in connection with a theft earlier in the week. The fifth person was arrested after being caught on CCTV stealing parts from bicycles. Those arrested ranged in age between 18 and and 33. The operation continued on Saturday, but no further arrests were made.
