The bank is rolling out the Employee Volunteering Programme worldwide, enabling its 60,000 staff to give something back to their communities.

The programme was developed primarily to concentrate on projects that focus on sight restoration and HIV in line with the bank’s ‘Seeing is Believing’ and ‘Living with HIV’ initiatives.

But other local community programmes can also benefit.

The Standard Chartered Jersey programme is entitled ‘Spring Into Action’, and around 60 staff have attended presentations by representatives of five community initiatives – Jersey Hospice, Jersey Youth Service, Jersey Cheshire Home, Jersey Blind Society and Durrell Wildlife Conservation – over the past two weeks.
