Sue Parker was told that she was being made redundant from the independent school last April and she left at the end of August. The school argue that the dismissal was necessary because of falling pupil numbers. Two of the teachers who decided that she should go were themselves possible targets for redundancy. The school maintain that they conducted a fair and reasonable process, but Mrs Parker has taken her case to the Employment Tribunal. Mrs Parker joined the school in 1999 and was a Year 3 form teacher when she was told by the head teacher, Colin Moore, that she was losing her job.
