Senator Frank Walker says that Normandy has invited the Island to take part in talks with the independent regulatory body of the nuclear power plant – proving that at last the French authorities are taking Jersey seriously. At a meeting in France last weekend the president of the Conseil Général de la Manche, who is Jean-Franois Le Grand, confirmed that he would travel to Jersey in April. His intention is to hear the concerns of Islanders about the construction of a third reactor at the plant.
