The company beat former operator Easylink to the three-year contract to operate a series of summer leisure services and the Island Explorer network will start as a result. There will be four routes – red, blue, green and yellow – that will run every day from Good Friday. Services will end on 3 November, the last day of the October half-term. And there will be only two fares of £1 or £1.50, depending on the length of journey. The new routes are integrated with the scheduled network, allowing people to travel on both services using the same passes. Island Explorer buses will serve all stops along the routes. Connex is to introduce 13 new Salvador Caetano buses for the start of the programme.
