According to statistics, people aged 15 to 29 are three times more likely to sustain a brain injury than any other group, with road accidents a major cause. Road safety officer Philip Blake says that young people ought to take care. ‘Remembering to wear a seatbelt in both the front and back of a car, checking the road before you cross, putting on a helmet if you are going cycling, skateboarding or horse-riding – to take just a little time to do these things can make such a difference,’ he said.
