St Michael’s Year 5 pupil Martha MacDonald’s short story was chosen from hundreds of entries from around the UK. The competition was organised by Puffin Book Club in December and children were asked to write a short story to celebrate World Book Day. Children’s author Jacqueline Wilson wrote the opening line and pupils were asked to write the rest of the story. Martha’s entry was printed in the most recent issue of the book club magazine, which has been distributed to schools around the UK.
