Deputy Roy Le Hérissier is bringing the motion of censure against the Deputy, triggered by his response to a question by Deputy Kevin Lewis about safety measures at La Collette on Tuesday. He says that the response was one of a number of examples of Deputy de Faye not treating his colleagues with respect and not answering their questions properly. The complaint, which has yet to be lodged with the States, is the third time in a fortnight that a minister has found himself in trouble for alleged breaches in ‘professional standards’. But it is the first one to result in a censure motion. Health Minister Stuart Syvret’s open letter to Richard Brocken prompted an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers, and on Tuesday Privileges and Procedures announced that a complaint against Chief Minister Frank Walker by Deputy Geoff Southern had resulted in Senator Walker withdrawing comments about the Deputy.
