After more than six years of applications by another developer for the site, the company have been given permission to build 72 flats, a car park and a medical clinic just five months after they bought it. The recently demolished Catherine Quirke House, Newgate Street, 6 to 12 Gloucester Street and 6 to 8 Patriotic Place will now be replaced by a block of one- and two-bedroom flats, shops and a car park. The development is part of a public private partnership with the Health and Social Services department. In return for the department giving Dandara some of Catherine Quirke House, which was on the corner of Newgate Street, the developers are providing a new medical centre.
