The latest phase of the Safer St Helier project, steered by the parish and Home Affairs, was held at the Pomme d’Or Hotel and attended by 40 people. The event was co-ordinated by Ian Rogan from Home Affairs. He said today that the meeting had been very encouraging, with all those present joining one of four working groups concentrating on tackling the issues of anti-social behaviour, late-night transport, licensing issues, and people’s perception of crime. Mr Rogan said that the project, overseen by a steering group led by the Constable, Simon Crowcroft, had the full backing of the Council of Ministers. It was ‘a wonderful opportunity’ for those who were most affected to help to do something to improve the situation.
