Two ICC awards for Jersey cricket

They have won European awards for the Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative in partnership with charity UNAIDS for their work with St James School as well as the Best Cricket Promotional and Marketing Program for their newsletter.

Jersey Cricket Board director of cricket, Chris Minty said: ‘The JCB are delighted to feature in these awards and it helps to show how cricket is moving forward in the Island.

Nicky Holmes, who is responsible for the newsletter, has been tremendous – the newsletter is not confined to the Island but is sent around the world.’ The awards, which began in 2002, promote excellence in cricket development and recognise exceptional performance and service to the game in the ICC’s 87 associate and affiliate members.

Minty added: ‘It’s great publicity for Jersey cricket and reflects very well on all those involved.’ Guernsey also picked up an award for the Best Overall Cricket Development Program in Europe.
