Alarmed Islanders yesterday contacted the JEP and asked for the public to be alerted to the potential danger the glass could pose. It is loose and can be picked up and thrown and is easily within children’s reach. Director of technical and environmental services Peter Noble says the glass is not sharp and it has been placed in the planters as a trial. If it is successful all planters in town could be filled with glass.
