The Chamber’s latest newsletter calls on members to do their best to support the Battle as it is still a vital part of the programme on offer for tourists in August.
Association executive Terry Avery said that the annual States grant of £95,000 no longer covered the guarantees which they paid to exhibitors – a cost which this year would rise to £140,000.
‘We are not exactly living hand to mouth and ended last year with a surplus of £12,000, but we certainly need financial support from the community,’ he said.
