Sir Philip Bailhache’s ruling in the States also cleared his brother, Attorney General William Bailhache, from being in breach.

But Sir Philip also ‘strongly advised’ that all Members of the House with shares in CI Traders should not take part in the debate on the deal when it comes before the States in a fortnight’s time because of the importance of avoiding any public misconceptions.
