The total cost of the building, which will be sited in front of the hospital to give parents immediate access to their sick children while they receive specialist treatment, will be £14 million.With 30 family bedrooms, the building will make it possible for couples to remain together while their child is in crisis instead of, as at present, one of them sometimes staying in accommodation outside the hospital.
