Bailiff’s role in Les Pas called into question

Mr Shenton made the comment to just over 20 people at St Thomas’s Church Hall at the public meeting designed to allow those who cannot attend evening meetings to hear what he has to say on the Les Pas issue. The JEP contacted the Bailiff’s Chambers after the meeting for comment, but no statement was forthcoming. The issue of shareholdings in CI Traders was raised because that company owns over 12 per cent of Les Pas Holdings.

It is proposed by Policy and Resources that the States accept a proposed deal whereby Les Pas will be given a prime £10 million waterfront site to develop at least 100 three-bedroom apartments in return for dropping its legal claim to ownership of the St Helier foreshore.
