P&R seek to clarify matters

The committee’s vice-president Senator Terry Le Sueur today issued a statement – published in full in the Letters section – outlining where he believes Mr Shenton either got his facts wrong or said certain things that may have been misleading when talking about the long-running court case.P & R is defending the proposed deal with Les Pas Holdings that will see a £10m prime waterfront site handed over to the company in return for dropping its legal claim to the St Helier foreshore.Mr Shenton is leading the opposition and urging States Members not to support the proposed deal when it comes before them for a decision next month.During Tuesday night’s public meeting outside the Town Hall, Senator Le Sueur and Solicitor General Stephanie Nicolle stood close to Mr Shenton and were both scribbling notes as he spoke.

Miss Nicolle was overheard muttering on a number of occasions: ‘That’s not true.’
