Jersey students get top marks again for GCSEs

The pupils achieved a 99.1 per cent pass rate overall, and have beaten their UK counterparts in every single measure.

Jersey children have widened the gap between themselves and those in the UK, with 15 per cent more Island pupils scoring grades A* to C than the comparable English figure.Although UK schools have reported lower results than 2002, with a 97.6 per cent pass rate, Jersey pupils continued to shine.

The results build on the success of the A2 Level examinations which showed a remarkable 99.3 per cent pass rate.Le Rocquier School and Jersey College for Girls were among the first schools to announce their results, and the headteachers of both were delighted with the grades their students had achieved.
