He was made to lie face down on the pavement in Devonshire Place and hand over a bumbag containing his wallet and a mobile phone, worth a total of £300.The attack happened at around 2 am as the victim was making his way from Seaton Place back to his home.
He told police that he saw the alleged offender chatting to another man outside a launderette in Devonshire Place.
The man is then alleged to have run towards him shouting and waving a knife.
All the victim’s property was recovered.A 20-year-old local man being held by police was due to be questioned today.
