At an extradition hearing in Houston, Texas, later this month, barristers will make an application to have Abubakar Atiku Bagudu brought to the Island to face prosecution.
Although Attorney General William Bailhache has declined to reveal the figures involved, the case is understood to concern several million pounds and is being taken very seriously by the Island authorities.
